Erika short testimonial
Two years ago I was sitting at a desk for 40 hours a week and I was completely miserable. I wanted to leave my job but I didn’t want to feel the guilt of wasting my college degree. I was nervous about the consequences I would face if I had tried to pursue a more fulfilling life. I felt like my time was running out, and I either had to commit to the career path I was on, become a money driven, power suit wearing bitch, or take a leap into the scary unknown, just hoping and praying that the grass was greener.
It had been a few months of this back and forth indecisiveness when I finally got the chance to talk to Tony Petrozza. I am a fairly stubborn person, and I was skeptical about him being able to sway my decision one way or another. I recall he asked me “what are you afraid of if you leave this job? Do you think the job cannot be done without you? What were they doing before they hired you?” This was followed by discussing my strong family support that I am surrounded by, so I didn’t need to worry about a place to sleep, or how I was going to eat. Tony showed me that the worries and hesitations I was having were all for nothing. The only person standing in my way at that point was me.
That very day after talking to Tony, I went home and started making the phone calls I needed to get to where I am today. I am currently a union Dockbuilder and I will never sit at a desk again. I wake up every morning excited to go to work, and I don’t know many people that can say the same thing. I owe this happiness to Tony, for which I will be forever grateful. - Erika Miner
